Mifune Town(御船町) has a 'disaster cooperation well' system. People can use these wells for daily water (toilet and cleaning use) when a large disaster cuts off the water supply. Right now, one privately owned well is registered in Takagi(高木), Amagi district(甘木地区). The well water is NOT for drinking. Users must follow the well owner's instructions.
What is a disaster cooperation well(災害時協力井戸)?
This system helps people get daily water (for toilets and cleaning, NOT for drinking) when a large disaster such as an earthquake or heavy rain cuts off the water supply for a long time.
When a disaster happens, registered wells are made available to local residents by the goodwill of the well owners. They are a valuable water source.
※ When you use water from a well during a disaster, you must always follow the instructions and warnings of the well owner (or manager).

Notes for using a disaster cooperation well(災害時協力井戸): You can only use these wells when a large disaster, such as an earthquake, has cut off the water supply. The well owner provides water by their own goodwill.
When you use well water, please keep the following points in mind.
You cannot use these wells during normal times when the regular water supply is working.
1. You can use a disaster cooperation well(災害時協力井戸) when a large disaster such as an earthquake has happened AND the well itself has no damage (for example, the water is not cloudy).
2. Follow the well owner's (or manager's) instructions about when and how to use the well.
3. Do not stay at the well for a long time. Be considerate of other users and avoid arguments.
4. Disaster cooperation well(災害時協力井戸) water is NOT for drinking. Use it only as daily water for cleaning and toilets.
5. The well owner (or manager) may limit or stop the water supply depending on the situation.
6. If you or your belongings are harmed while using the well water, you cannot hold the well owner responsible.
7. The amount of water from a well is limited. Large amounts cannot be provided.
8. Users must bring their own containers to collect the well water.
9. Well water is provided by the owner's goodwill. Please do not behave in a way that causes trouble for the owner or for other people nearby.
